About Us Established in June of 2007, Real Model Railroaders was created by two local members of the Worcester Model Railroaders Club, Kevin Castonguay and Joe Borbone. Worcester Model Railroaders (WMRR) had decided to dismantle their beautiful 1992 layout, move to a new location in Dudley, Massachusetts and construct a brand new layout from scratch. Link: http://www.wmrr.org Kevin and Joe felt that destroying an icon like this layout was unacceptable, so, they formed a partnership to purchase the layout from WMRR. A 5- year lease was secured from the property owners, and, RMR was born! New members were added, and, recruitment continues. Since then, much update and repair work has been done to the layout to bring it up to first- class condition. Work still continues to this goal. A major expansion is currently under way, which will add about 1/3 more running, staging and storage area to the layout, making it one of the largest and most interesting in New England. In 2008, a third partner, Ron Rossi, was added to the partnership. Ron and Joe also continue to be members of WMRR. RMR is a member of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA) and its Northeast Region (NER). We are on the tour schedule for the 2009 convention.
